This course is aimed at visual artists and other professionals working in the field of fine arts but also for artists working in other artistic branches and in cross-sectoral collaborations.
The course aims to give the main perspective and tools to make a competitive grant application, specifically focusing on international as well as local funding programmes. During this course, you will be step by step by instructed on the narrative structure of a grant application. You will learn formulating your project description and artist statement as well as receive tips on portfolio making and successful artist resume preparation.
Additionally, you will explore the decision process in funding application evaluations and the ways of finding suitable local and International application calls for your project/artwork.
This is a hands-on grant writing course for artists, artistic projects, organisations and applications for residency programmes covering other critical topics like making a realistic time line and an efficient budget. The ways of finding suitable international application calls for your project/artwork will also be explored.

Competence in planning and applying for funding for projects or residencies especially in an international context.
Berlin Art Grant Clinic is a support system for artists, curators, NGOs and creative minds from all fields to help them to equip themselves for a successful career in the art scene. Through its seminars, workshops and consultancy practices it fills the gap between the art schools and the professional life, and helps cultural actors to sustain their careers as well as their lives. Established in 2014, the clinic coached more than 1,300 artists, curators, cultural managers and designers and helped so many of them to receive funding. With the Emergency Room, Berlin Art Grant Clinic’s success rate is 76%. We are happy to collaborate with Berlin Art Grant Clinic again!

Ece Pazarbaşı is the director of Berlin Art Grant Clinic. She works and walks on the merged border of curatorial practice and artistic research as her main profession. With 17 years of experience in the curatorial and art management field, she has realised many projects and received many fundings both for herself and other projects. She is working as a Guest Lecturer at Aalto University and Helsinki Fine Arts Academy. Additionally, she has given Grant Writing courses at Weissensee Kunsthochschule, UdK Berlin, Mainz and Kassel Kunsthochschule as well as at Transart Institute – Plymouth University, Open University, Helsinki Finland, HIAP Artist Residency, to name a few. She is currently serving the jury of Berlin Senat for The Basic Funding for Project Spaces and Initiatives and Projektförderung Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. She is also the director of the Field Kitchen Academy, an experimental, interdisciplinary educational residency programme.

- das vollständige Ausfüllen der Anwesenheitslisten (in der Regel vor Ort)
- die Teilnahme an einer Kompetenzfeststellung am Ende eines Moduls, eines Seminars und einer Beratung
- die Beteiligung an zwei Verbleibserfassungen nach Abschluss der Teilnahme
